I experienced it & overcame it with job change...


I worked at same company 29 years. Was promised a promotion last 5 years pending my supervisor's retirement. It took him forever to leave & by then I was considered too old to promote. I was stuck in the same job reporting to someone much younger with a fraction of my experience. So I changed jobs/industries and took a 12K per year cut in pay. It paid off, I was happy at work & my experience was appreciated & eventually rewarded with some significant raises. When I retired a year ago they were upset to see me go.
So if you are burnt out, take control of the situation & move on. A cut in pay is worth the improvement in your overall quality of life.
